How it works
From the first call to a signed folder
Most plans take four to six weeks. A care emergency can move faster.
- 01
Step 1: The call
Whoever answers asks who the matter is about, what's urgent and when you can talk. We'll tell you which lawyer fits.
- 02
Step 2: The first meeting
An hour at the office, at your home or in a facility. Bring statements, letters and questions. You'll leave with a list of what's next.
- 03
Step 3: The fee, in writing
A letter that says what we'll do, what it costs and what isn't included. Nothing starts until you sign it.
- 04
Step 4: The drafts
Plain-language documents, with a one-page summary of each. We go over them with you, then change what you want changed.
- 05
Step 5: Signing day
Witnesses and a notary are here. You leave with copies, and the originals are stored or filed as you decide.
Fees
Flat fees for the documents, quoted first
The documents are flat fees for one household, and you get yours in writing at the first meeting. Court work, Medicaid applications and estates are quoted separately, by the task or by the hour, before we start.
Powers of attorney
For one person who wants someone to act for them.
Financial power of attorney
Health care directive
Medical records release
Signing meeting with witnesses and notary
Will-based plan
A will each, with the papers that go with them.
Two wills
Powers of attorney and directives for both
Beneficiary form review
One round of changes
Trust-based plan
A trust, so the house and accounts pass without a probate case.
Revocable living trust and pour-over wills
Powers of attorney and directives for both
New deed for the house
Funding checklist for accounts
Recording and court filing fees are paid to the county or the court and are not part of the flat fee.
Call, and we'll find a time
One of us will call you back the same business day to find a time.
